Prepared from fresh bark of twigs and root of a plant named Hamamelis Virginica or Hamamelis Dioica
Hamamelis virginica MT is very useful in cases of venous congestion, hemorrhages, varicose veins and haemorrhoids, with bruised soreness of affected parts, open, painful wounds, with weakness from loss of blood. It is an astringent, anti-inflammatory, and stops external and internal bleeding. A tannin ‘hamamelitannin’ present in this drug, exhibits an activity of inhibiting colonic cancer growth.
People needing it have a tendency to get bruises easily. They may also have a bleeding tendency with this. Bleeding from gums, nose, rectum can be majorly present among them
