Urtica urens MT is a remedy for agalactia and lithiasis. Used in case of profuse discharge from mucous surfaces. Enuresis and urticaria. Spleen affections. Used for ill-effects of eating shellfish. It is also used for gout and uric acid diathesis. It has been found useful in cases of allergies. It has been shown to possess antioxidant activity and free radical scavenging effects in rat models.

Urtica has an affinity for problems on the skin and it is particularly useful for burns and scalds, hives, prickly heat, and itching raised red blotches on the skin. It is also useful for sunburn. There is often a very intense, burning, itching feeling and there can also be vesicles. It can be a useful remedy for both chickenpox and urticaria.

Urticaria symptoms can come on as a reaction to eating shellfish and it can also be useful for bee stings. 

There is an affinity between gout and rheumatism when these are accompanied by urticaria-like eruptions. There can be specific pain in the right shoulder.

We also see kidney issues with this remedy. Kidney stones, acrid urine which causes itching and strangury (painful, urgent urination of small quantities where there is a feeling of not being completely empty).

In females, we can see uterine hemorrhage, and again, the stinging sensation with acid-excoriating discharge. In males, we can see the stinging and itching in the scrotum.

There can also be headaches with urtica and these are usually worse over the eyes. We can also see stinging pains in the right parietal bone.

The symptoms of this remedy will be worse for cool; cool water, cool bathing, and cool moist air. It can be worse yearly and for touch. Symptoms can be better for laying down.
