Dr. Vikas Sharma says 'Homeopathic medicines help effectively manage back pain related to scoliosis'. These medicines can be used for supportive help along with conventional treatment physical therapy and chiropractic treatment. 'Curvature of the spine can develop in adults too, and the osteoporosis that can accompany menopause is a risk factor’ says Dr. KS Gopi. Scoliosis homeopathy medicines by indications

• Silicea - spinal curvature to the right side (Dextroscoliosis), spine is painful, pain in the back may be shooting, aching, or beating in nature. Pain is worse from motion, and touch, and worse after stooping or rising from a seat. Burning sensation in the spine with weakness, a sore feeling on the right side of the spine
• Calcarea Phos - spinal curvature to the left side (Levoscoliosis), patient suffers from a weak spine. The back pain is of drawing nature worsens from motion. Pain between the shoulder blades is also marked. Dr. Vikas says Calcarea phos is also indicated for children (especially girls) who grow rapidly at puberty and are predisposed to softening of bones and curvatures of the spine.
• Rhus Tox - Pain in the central part of the spine (dorsal spine) on bending forward. Pain between shoulder blades, sensitive to touch. In some cases, pain in the small of the back is present that worsens from sitting or lying. Moving about helps relieve the pain. The back feels as if it is broken. The doctor says Rhus Tox also helps in cases of scoliosis related to an injury.
• Aesculus - for constant pain felt in the back. Since scoliosis affects posture, there may be muscle tightening in the back and legs, and nerve compression in curved areas may cause back and leg pain. Walking and stooping worsen the backache. Back also feels lame and weak
• Phosphorus - People with spinal stenosis have back pain and symptoms such as numbness and tingling sensations in their arms and legs. Phosphorus is indicated for weakness/tiredness of the spine in cases of scoliosis. Pain in the small of the back as if it is broken. A dull pressure is also felt in the whole spine along with a sensation of heat or burning.
• Pulsatilla for scoliosis where there is a curvature of the upper part of the spine. Pain in the neck and between scapulae arises with the curvature. The pain between scapulae gets worse from inspiration. Pulsatilla also helps treat curvature of the spine in children with open fontanelles (Soft spots in the skull, or gaps between the skull's growth plates)
• Calcarea carb for the curvature of the dorsal spine (thoracic spine or central part of spine) in scoliosis. A drawing and stitching pain between the shoulder blades is felt, and breathing can be impeded by pain.
• Belladonna for the curvature of the lumbar spine (lower back) in scoliosis. The pain of drawing nature is felt in the spine. Sometimes shooting, stabbing pain may be felt in the back, and it may feel as if the back would break. Lumbar pain is also felt as burning pain going into the buttocks and down into the legs (sciatica)
