It is mainly indicated in irritation and inflammation of respiratory organs. It is useful in cases of skin condition like eczema. It is indicated in case of proteinuria. It increases the local perspiration. It causes adhesion of the nail fold.

Osmium Metallicum Patient Profile

Head: It is indicated in hair fall. The head feels as if a band is tied around.

Nose: The nose and larynx are sensitive to air. There is discharge from nose with fullness feeling.

Eyes: It is given for increased pressure inside the eyes causing glaucoma with visual disturbances. It is indicated in inflammation of the conjunctiva with violent pain and lachrymation. It also relieves pain in supra and infra-orbital region.

Respiratory: It produces acute inflammation of larynx with cough and expectoration of tough and stringy mucus. The cough is dry, noisy, hard in violent short bursts, which shakes the whole body.

Skin: It is indicated in eczema with itching. The pimples are itching. The sweat is increased and it smells like garlic.

Dosage: Please note that the dosage of single homoeopathic medicines varies from drug to drug depending upon the condition, age, sensitivity and other things. In some cases they are given as regular doses as 3-5 drops 2-3 times a day whereas in other cases they are given only once in a week, month or even in a longer period. Head -Feels as if a band around head. Falling off of hair (Kali carb; Fluor ac).

Nose -Coryza, with full feeling in nose. Nose and larynx sensitive to air. Small lumps of phlegm from posterior nares.

Eyes -Glaucoma; with iridescent vision. Violent supra and infra-orbital neuralgia; violent pains and lachrymation. Green colors surround candle-light. Conjunctivitis. Increase in intra-ocular tension, dim sight, photophobia.

Respiratory -Acute laryngitis; cough and expectoration of tough, stringy mucus. Convulsive cough; feels as though membrane were torn from larynx. Noisy, dry, hard, cough, in violent short bursts, coming from low down, shaking the whole body. Talking causes pain in larynx. Hoarse; pain in larynx; sore sternum. Twitching of fingers, with spasmodic cough.

Skin -Eczema, with pruritus. Irritated skin. Itching pimples. Bromidrosis, sweat in axilla smelling of garlic, worse evening and night. Fold remains attached to growing nail.
