Prepared from fresh bark of twigs and root of a plant named Hamamelis Virginica or Hamamelis Dioica

Hamamelis virginica is indicated for venous congestion, haemorrhages, varicose veins, haemorrhoids, bruises, venous haemorrhages, open wounds, for controlling bleeding after surgeries, etc. Depending upon the individualization of case, it is also used for other problems by homoeopathic physicians.

It is a useful remedy in conditions of venous congestion, haemorrhages, varicose veins, and hemorrhoid, sore, bruised feeling of affected parts, passive venous haemorrhages, painful open wounds and ulcers and weakness from loss of blood.

Eyes: Sore, bruised pain in the eyes with bloodshot appearance from inflamed and injected vessels. Pressure in the eyeballs from intraocular haemorrhage.

Throat: Congestion of mucous membrane with distended veins and bluish discoloration due to varicosity of throat.
