Coccus cacti is a Homoeopathic Dilution made from Cochineal. It is reported to be useful in asthma, whooping-cough, nephritis, phthisis, backache, etc.
It is reported to be useful in for spasmodic and whooping coughs, and catarrhal conditions of the bladder; spasmodic pains in kidneys, with visceral tenesmus, anuria, anasarca and ascites.
It is a very useful remedy in cases of spasmodic and whooping coughs. It is also indicated in inflammation of bladder and kidneys with very scanty urine and dropsical conditions of the body.

Coccus Cacti Patient Profile
Mind: Sad, gloomy and depressed especially in the early morning and in the afternoon.
Head: Soreness in the nape of the neck which gets worse after sleep and from exertion. Headache gets worse when lying on back and better from lying with the head high. Sensation of foreign body in the eyes.
Respiratory: Inflammation of uvula with constant hemming and hawking. Cough with congestion of larynx and sensation of foreign body behind the tongue with inclination to swallow frequently. Congestion of chest with accumulation of thick, viscid mucus with difficult expectoration and tickling in the larynx. Suffocative cough in the morning on waking up, with tough, white mucus. Spasmodic cough in the morning worse from brushing the teeth. Whooping cough with sensitive throat which ends in vomiting of thick mucus. Heart: Oppression of chest with sensation of weight and pressure and weight on heart.
