Patient Profile of Syphilinum

Mind: Apathetic person. He feels his own body got insane or being paralyzed. Fear at night and the suffering due to exhaustion on awakening. Hopeless persons. Despairs of recovery. Loss of memory. Remembers everything previous to his illness.

Head: Pain in bones of head. Top of head feels too weak as if coming off. Stupefying pain in neck and head. Linear pains from temple across the head, or from backward of eyes and it leads to sleeplessness and delirium at night. Falling of the hair.

Eyes: Lids will be swollen. Pain intense at night. Drooping of eye lids. Tubercular inflammation of iris. Double vision with one image seen below the other. Feeling of cold air blowing on eye. Chronic, recurrent, inflammation of cornea. Successive crops of inflammation of cornea and abrasions of epithelial layer of cornea. Intense photophobia. Profuse lachrymation.

Ears: Caries in ear of syphilitic origin.

Nose: Caries of nasal bones, hard palate and septum, with perforation discharge from tip of nose.

Mouth: Excessive flow of saliva from mouth. Saliva runs out of mouth when sleeping. Teeth decay at gum, edges serrated, dwarfed. Coated tongue with cracks. Ulcers smart and burn.

Stomach: Excessive craving of alcohol.

Modalities: Worse at night, sundown to sunrise, seashore, in summer. Better in land and mountains, during day, moving about slowly.
