Causes & Symptoms for Spigelia

• Spigelia Anthelmia has marked action on eye pain and chronic catarrh. Usually the left eye is affected.
• Eyes feel too large for the orbit. There is violent pain in the eyes of pressing type on turning the eyes. Pupils dilated with severe pain in and around eyes. Eye balls are sensitive to touch. The pain is worse from touch, motion, noise, turning the eyes, from cold, damp and rainy weather.
• Spigelia Anthelmia is also indicated in neuralgia of trigeminal nerve of left side. Left sided eye, left orbit, left malar bone and left sided teeth gets affected.
• Pain is shooting, burning and tearing type.
• Spigelia Anthelmia also helps in toothache from tobacco smoking. Sharp, stabbing, sticking, tearing pain, very sensitive to touch.
• Spigelia Anthelmia also helps in headache from abuse of tobacco.

Mind : Weakness of memory. Suicidal thoughts all the time. Absence of ideas. Difficulty of thinking. Sadness always with discourage himself in all matter. Anxiety, with restless care concerning the future. Timid person. Afraid of pointed things, pins. Sits as if lost in thought, stares at a single point.

Head : Head confused, as from dizziness. Giddiness when looking downwards. Vertigo will be upto such an extent as to fall down when walking, standing, or looking down. Vertigo with nausea. Headache, on shaking head. Vertigo and sensation of heaviness. Neuralgic pains flying from one part to another. Headache beginning in cerebellum at morning which spread over sides of head, causes violent and pulsating pain in temple and over left eye, with stitches in left eye and it returns periodically.

Eyes : Neuralgia of eyes especially where there is great soreness in eyes. Eyes can bear a touch. Affections of the eyeball, eyelids and optic nerve with dilated pupils. Great sensitiveness of eyes to light. Hanging down of lids as from paralysis. Sensation as of a hard substance under right upper lid. Contraction and involuntary movement of eyes. Loss of sight. Ears : Earache with offensive discharge. Hearing very sensitive. Periodical deafness. Sensation of distant ringing in ears, with sensation as if the ear were loosely stopped or a thick mist were in front of it. Roaring, buzzing, and pulsation in ears. Noise of hammering before ears. Noise in the ear as of something fluttering. Pain in margin of left concha.

Nose : Itching in nose, with tickling sensation. Tickling on back of nose, as if lightly touched by hairs, or as if a gentle wind were blowing across it. Tingling, shooting, boring, smarting and itching in nose. Frequent sneezing with discharge of bloody mucus. Mucus at one time white, at another time yellow. Throat : Sore throat with lancinating pain. Swelling in palate.

Stomach : Risings after every meal. Sour risings. Nausea when fasting, with a sensation as if something were ascending from stomach into throat. Accumulation of mucus in the stomach. Stitches in the region of diaphragm leads to arrest breathing. Pressure in the umbilical region, as by a hard body. Colicky pain with pinching sensation in abdomen.

Stool and Anus : Frequent, urgent, and ineffectual want to evacuate. Faints during stool. Hard, difficult evacuations, with much mucus. Soft, liquid faeces. White stools daily. Nodular stool with violent pressure.

Urinary Organs : Urine with whitish sedimentation. Discharge of prostatic fluid from the urethra. Frequent urination all the time with profuse emission. Sudden and involuntary dribbling of urine with burning sensation in anterior part of urethra.

Male Sexual Organ : Tingling sensation around glan-penis. Semi lateral swelling of glans. Erections, with sexual thoughts all the time, without any excitement.

Respiratory Organs : Inflammation of bronchial tubes with hoarseness of voice with continual discharge of mucus from nose. Dry heat in body without any thirst. Prominent eyes with distressing headache and disposition to weep. Cough in open air with pain in chest as from excoriation. Dry cough, violent and hollow, caused by irritation low down in trachea, with respiration obstructed, even to suffocation. Short, dry cough causing soreness of chest. Shortness of breath especially when talking with anxiety and redness of cheeks and lips. Difficult to breathe when moving in bed can only lie on right side or with the head very high.

Chest : Aching at the chest, with painful oppression. Contraction of chest, with anguish and obstructed respiration. Stitches in diaphragm with dyspnoea. Noise in the chest like that made by a spinning-wheel, esp. in region of heart.Pressure, burning or incisive sensation, pain, as from ulceration and tearing in chest, esp. on lifting arms. Cutting tearing beneath l. nipple, extending to region of scapulae and upper arm, aggravated during inspiration and deep breathing. Sensation of trembling in thorax, aggravated by moving arms. Spasmodic sensation in chest, proceeding from pit of stomach and causing choking.

Heart : Violent palpitation of heart. Aggravated by curving chest forwards and by sitting down. Heavy aching in region of apex with feeling as if a dull-pointed knife were slowly driven through it. Noise in chest like that made by a spinning wheel, especially in region of heart. Sudden attack of suffocation, with palpitation of heart. Sensation in heart as if squeezed with hand; as if crushed.
