Also known as Ratanhia Peruviana, Krameria-Mapato, Krameria Triandra
Ratanhia is one of the important remedies in cases of rectal symptoms. It is also indicated for perygium, violent hiccoughs, cracked nipples, worm infestations especially pinworms, etc. Depending upon the individualization of case, it is also used for other problems by homoeopathic physicians.
The rectal symptoms are most important in this remedy. It has cured pterygium, violent hiccough and cracked nipples. It is used to expel the pinworms.
Ratanhia Patient Profile
Head: The pain is bursting in head after stool and when sitting with head bend forward. There is sensation as if scalp from nose to vertex are stretched.
Rectum: The rectum is painful as if full of broken glass. The anus aches and burns for hours after stool. The anus feels constricted. There is dry heat at anus with sudden knife like pains. The stools are passed with great effort with protrusion of hemorrhoids. The anus is fissured with great constriction and burning like fire which is relieved by cold water. The diarrhea is thin and fetid. It is used in treating pinworms.
Dosage: Please note that the dosage of single homoeopathic medicines varies from drug to drug depending upon the condition, age, sensitivity and other things. In some cases they are given as regular doses as 3-5 drops 2-3 times a day whereas in other cases they are given only once in a week, month or even in a longer period. We strongly recommend that the medication should be taken as per the physician's advice.

Stomach -Pain like knives cutting the stomach.
Rectum -Aches, as if full of broken glass. Anus aches and burns for hours after stool. Feels constricted. Dry heat at anus, with sudden knife-like stitches. Stools must be forced with great effort; protrusion of hæmorrhoids. Fissures of anus, with great constriction, burning like fire, as do the hæmorrhoids; temporarily relieved by cold water. Fetid, thin diarrhœa; stools burn; burning pains before and after stools. Oozing at anus. Pin-worms (Sant; Teuc; Spig). Itching of anus.
Relationship -Compare: Paeon; Croton (rectal neuralgia); Sanguin nit (diseases of rectum); Macuna prurens-Dolichos-piles, with burning; hæmorrhoidal diathesis; Silico-sulphocalcite of Alumina; Stag-blast iron furnace cinder -(anal itching, piles, and constipation; housemaid's knee); abdominal flatulent distension and lumbago. Analogue to Lycopod.
