Oil of sandalwood is also used as a homeopathic remedy and it has admirable results within its sphere of action. Oil of sandalwood is called Oleum Santali in homeopathic jargon.
The trees from which oil of sandalwood is extracted typically grow in Southern India. The woods are heavy and aromatic. Their fragrance persists for years together and these trees are one of the most expensive plant species of the world. The oil of sandalwood is a volatile oil. Normally it is obtained by steam distillation of the tree products. The medicine can be procured at homeopathic dispensaries; one can also buy Oleum Santali mother tincture online.
The most prominent range of action of this medicine is on the urinary and sexual systems. Gonorrhea is one condition of sexual organs where this remedy comes in handy. It is also used as a disinfectant when a person is suffering from cough with expectoration and unable to cough up the phlegm.
Oleum Santali mother tincture is often indicated in cases of urinary dysfunction. Frequent burning and smarting urination with incessant urging are found in such cases. Urinary tract infection can thus be safely cured by this remedy. Acute pains and aches occur in the kidney region. The flow of urine is retarded with slow and small stream and the person feels a ball pressing the urethra, more so while standing. This often occurs in prostatic enlargement, a common condition among aging males. Oleum Santali mother tincture is prescribed in such cases. Chronic cases of urinary and bladder infections may be treated by this medicine. Five drops of the tincture in half a cup of water three times a day help to relieve the urinary troubles.
The male complaints that can be treated by this remedy in both tincture and potency form should also be mentioned. Swelling of the genitals occurs with pains deep in the perineum. Thick yellow discharges from the genitalia occur as seen in gonorrhea. These discharges contain both pus and mucus and are offensive.
Homeopathic physicians may also prescribe Oleum Santali mother tincture for moles. The uses of Oleum Santali for skin complaints are remarkable. Most eruptions indicated under this remedy cover the face area. Acne, moles and spots on the face can be effectively treated by Oleum Santali with little to no chances of recurrence.
It is necessary to understand that self-medication often turns out to be harmful and ineffective. Oleum Santali also works best in dosages prescribed by the doctor.
