Description

Lycopodium Clavatum – A Deep-Acting Constitutional Remedy

Key Indications:
Bloating, liver complaints, backache, joint pains, digestive disturbances, metabolic weakness.

Clinical Indications of Lycopodium Clavatum

Lycopodium clavatum is a powerful constitutional remedy, especially effective in complaints arising after fright, grief, anger, anxiety, vexation, or overexertion. It acts deeply on the digestive system, liver, kidneys, and metabolic functions, particularly where there is functional weakness rather than structural damage.

A striking feature of Lycopodium is its direction of symptoms:

  • Complaints predominantly appear on the right side

  • Symptoms often progress from right to left

  • Complaints tend to move from above downward

The Lycopodium constitution is marked by extreme sensitiveness. Patients are generally chilly, crave warmth, yet many complaints are paradoxically aggravated by heat or warmth.

About LM Potency Homeopathic Medicines

In the sixth edition of the Organon, Dr. Samuel Hahnemann introduced a refined system of potentization known as “renewed dynamization”, using a dilution ratio of 1:50,000. These potencies are called LM potencies, also known as Q potencies, a term popularized by Dr. Pierre Schmidt.

Today, LM potencies are officially recognized in Indian, American, and other homoeopathic

Denotation & Scale

  • Prepared in a 1:50,000 dilution scale

  • Denoted as 0/1, 0/2, 0/3 … up to 0/30

Perceived Advantages of LM Potencies

  • Highest therapeutic power with minimal dosage

  • Extremely gentle action with little to no aggravation

  • Allows frequent repetition, even hourly in acute cases

  • Particularly effective in chronic diseases

  • 0/3 is considered subtler than 30C or 200C

  • 0/30 is believed by many classical homoeopaths to be sharper than CM

General Method of LM Potency Dosage

  • Take a clean 120–180 ml (4–6 oz) glass bottle

  • Fill ¾ with water

  • Add 1–2 globules of the chosen LM potency (usually starting with 0/1)

  • Succuss the bottle 1–12 times before each dose depending on sensitivity

  • Take 1 teaspoon of the solution and dilute in 8–10 tablespoons of water

  • For children: ½ teaspoon

  • For infants: ¼ teaspoon

The dose and repetition are always adjusted according to the individual’s sensitivity.

Note:
SBL LM potency medicines are dispensed in ½, 1, and 2 dram plastic containers. Images are for illustrative purposes only.
