Calotropis gigantia MT has a great therapeutic value over asthma; ascites; cough; catarrh; chronic rheumatism; diarrhea; dysentery; elephantiasis; pneumonic tuberculosis; poisonous snake-bite; leprosy; intestinal worms; skin disease and syphilis. The tincture of the leaves is used in intermittent fevers. Research reports state the anti-cancer properties of alcoholic extract, and its benefits in lupus, tubercular leprosy, syphilitic ulcers, and rheumatism.
