-
Bronchitis: Bronchitis is the inflammation of the bronchial tubes, which carry air to the lungs. It is commonly caused by viruses and can result in symptoms such as cough, production of mucus, chest discomfort, and shortness of breath.
-
Tuberculosis (TB): Tuberculosis is a bacterial infection caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It primarily affects the lungs but can also involve other organs. Symptoms of TB include persistent cough, chest pain, coughing up blood, fatigue, weight loss, and night sweats.
-
Influenza: Influenza, commonly known as the flu, is a viral infection that affects the respiratory system. It can cause symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, nasal congestion, body aches, and fatigue. In severe cases, it can lead to complications such as pneumonia.
-
Fungal lung infections: Certain types of fungi can cause lung infections, especially in individuals with weakened immune systems or underlying lung conditions. Examples include aspergillosis and histoplasmosis, which can cause symptoms ranging from mild to severe depending on the specific infection and the person's immune response.
It's important to consult with a healthcare professional if you suspect a lung infection. They can provide an accurate diagnosis and recommend appropriate treatment based on your specific condition.
