What is Conium Maculatum?
Conium Maculatum is a Homoeopathic Dilution prepared from the plant Poison Hemlock and is a frequently used remedy for ascending paralysis such as in cases of locomotor ataxia and chorea. The legs are very weak with a sudden loss of strength in them. It is also suitable for tumors and complaints of old age. There is a general bruised feeling as if from blows. The glands are enlarged. It is also suitable in complaints of the heart related to aging and calcification of the vessels such as arteriosclerosis.
What are uses/benefits of Conium Maculatum?
It is a very useful remedy in vertigo that is worse on lying down and on turning in the bed especially towards the left. There is weakness of the body and mind along with trembling. The eyes are very sensitive to light and there is excessive watering form the eyes. There is great weakness after passing stool. Urinary flow is interrupted and there is dribbling of urine in old men.

Conium is indicated for pancreatitis where there is a sudden attack of vomiting and diarrhea (acute pancreatitis.) A night aggravation of diarrhea and vomiting is often noted. There is vomiting of a white substance along with an ache and pressure in the upper abdomen. There is hardness and distension of the abdomen along with great sensitivity. The person has a constant urge to evacuate the bowels. The stool is a liquid mixed with hard lumps, undigested food and passes with loud emissions of flatus.

Stomach: Violent nausea with acrid heartburn and acidic eructations especially on lying down. Spasmodic contractions of the stomach and sensitive epigastrium, which are better from eating.
Urine: Retention and incontinence of urine with difficulty in voiding. The urine flows and stops alternately with interrupted discharge and dribbling of urine.
