Mode of action of ingredients in Lord's Orthokure Tablets

• Glucosamine: Glucosamine is an amino monosaccharide synthesized from glucose in humans and most abundantly in connective tissues and cartilage. As people age, glucosamine levels fall. This can lead to joint deterioration.
• Arthritis is characterized by gradual loss of the cartilage in the joints resulting in friction between the bones that leads to pain and swelling. Researches has shown that taking glucosamine supplements may increase the cartilage and fluid surrounding joints and prevent malfunction of these substances. Sulfur needs to be incorporated into cartilage in order to make and repair it. Glucosamine plays a vital role in incorporating sulfur into cartilage.
• Glucosamine enhances tendon-to-bone healing by increasing hyaline cartilage formation and decreasing the formation of capillary vessels. Thus daily glucosamine administration also helps to accelerate the early phase of fractures repair with increased new bone formation, and osteoblast lining cells.
• Curcumin: Curcumin is derived from Curcuma longa plant. Curcumin has gained popularity because of its negligible toxicity and multiple therapeutic actions including anti-inflammatory activity. A couple of research studies show that curcumin works well in arthritis and it even outperforms regular painkillers. Type 2 collagen is one of the proteins that make up the bone and in the case of osteoarthritis it is degraded and released in the synovial fluid that lubricates the joints.
• Boswellia: Boswellia serrata has triterpene boswellic acid which is the key ingredient that soothes the joints and also helps to maintain optimum levels of synovial fluid, making the entire structure lubricated and easy to rotate or move. It improves blood supply to joints and restores the integrity of blood vessels obliterated by spasms of internal damage. Oral administration of Boswellia results in reduced levels of inflammatory mediators and increases the level of interleukin-10 (IL-10) which is an effective therapeutic method for periodontitis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other bone-related diseases.
