Ammi Visnaga also known as Khella. Ammi visnaga MT is a homoeopathic tincture prepared from the flowers of the tooth-pick plant. Ammi visnaga is a species of flowering plant in the carrot family. It is native to Europe, Asia, and North Africa. Ammi visnaga is a widely used medicinal plant for treatment of several diseases including renal stones. The active principles of Ammi visnaga are khellin and visnagin. Visnadine is another chemical compound found in Ammi visnaga which is a natural vasodilator. Khellin has the property of smooth muscle relaxant.

Often referred to as "khella," ammi visnaga is known to promote widening of the blood vessels, remove kidney stones and has diuretic properties. Historically it has been in use since a longtime for treating such cases especially in ancient Egypt. In Egypt, a tea made from the fruit of the plant has been used as an herbal remedy for kidney stones. some preparations of the fruits have also been used for angina pectoris therapy.
